The Institute for Public Policy and Business Research (IPPBR) was reorganized in July 2000 to establish the Policy Research Institute (PRI) . In the reorganization new research centers and workgroups were formed. PRI was re-named in July 2006 to better reflect our core mission. For more information, click on any of the center, workgroup, or infrastructure descriptions below.


RESEARCH CENTERS



Center for Research on Global Change

Exploring and understanding the social, political, economic, and cultural  dimensions of global change.

Center for Economic and Business Analysis (CEBA)

CEBA focuses on state and local economic development, economic impact analysis, economic modeling, and tax research.

Center for International Political Analysis (CIPA)

In conjunction with the Department of Political Science, CIPA supports international research in areas of the world not covered by other university programs.

Center for Environmental Policy

Engaging the social sciences, engineering studies, and legal studies, this group examines various dimensions of environmental policy.


RESEARCH WORKGROUP(S)



Law, Society, and Global Justice

This research group, including faculty from Political Science and Public Administration, studies the role of law in the administrative and policy process.


RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE



Grant Support and Administration

In addition to assisting in proposal preparation, grant staff will identify funding opportunities for current research staff, as well as faculty outside the core research centers.

Survey Research Center

This laboratory develops and conducts telephone and mail surveys ,and analyzes survey data for funded research. The lab also seeks survey research contracts independently.

Computing and Information Center

The computing capacity at IPSR provides multiple data processing resources to affiliated faculty and staff. IPSR is also a coordinating agency of the Kansas State Data Center and provides assistance in locating, interpreting, analyzing, and visualizing demographic and socio-economic data for researchers, faculty, and others.

These venues are used to disseminate research results and foster intellectual discourse and research on important social and policy issues.
